Apcotex Industries Ltd is manufactures producing synthetic emulsion polymers, synthetic rubber lattices such as vinyl pyridine latex, carboxylated and non-carboxylated styrene butadiene latexes, acrylic latexes, nitrile latex, and styrene butadiene rubber latex. Apcotex incorporated in 1986 as a division of Asian Paints India, Apcotex Lattices (ALL) was separated from the former in 1991 to enable closer management focus. The company has set up a plant at Taloja, Maharashtra with a collaboration German company for technical assistance.
Apcotex range of latexes is used for Tire cord dipping, paper/board coating, carpet backing, construction (concrete modification and water proofing), paints, textile finishing and automotive components. Its high styrene synthetic rubber is used in various applications, such as footwear, automotive components, v-belts, conveyer belts and hoses. Its synthetic latex products for construction include Apcotex TSN100, Apcotex PC 400, Apcotex TSN400 and Apcotex TSN543. Its synthetic latex products for paper include Apcotex PT 600, Apcotex PC 200 and Apcotex PT 750. Its synthetic latex products for textile include Apcotex TX 500 , Apcotex TX 400 and Apcotex TX 600. Its manufacturing plants are located at Taloja, Mumbai.
The company manufacture 750 tpa of vinyl pyridine latex (VPL). VPL finds application in the tyre industry. styrene butadiene rubber finds application in the textile and paper industries. High input cost and availability of imported rubber and latex at dumping prices have put the company's margin under pressure.
