Bandhan Bank, headquartered in Kolkata is the first start their operations as a microfinance, now transforming into a commercial bank focused on serving Metro 2 tear, class 4 cities and rural markets in India. The company was incorporated in Dec 2014, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Bandhan Financial Services Ltd It started in 2001 a small village 60 km from Kolkata, West Bengal as a not-for-profit enterprise providing microloans to the underprivileged sections of the society. Bandhan Bank is present in PAN India- 34 out of 36 states and Union Territories of India. It focussed on financial inclusion and women empowerment through sustainable livelihood creation. Bandhan Bank has 4,229 banking outlets pan-India serving more than 1.83 crore customers.


Bandhan Bank is a subsidiary of Bandhan Financial Holdings Ltd (BFHL). BFHL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bandhan Financial Services Ltd (BFSL). BFSL was founded by Mr. Chandra Shekhar Ghosh. He is MD & CEO of Bandhan Bank. BFSL's public shareholders include International Finance Corporation (IFC), IFC FIG Investment Company, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), and Caladium Investment Pte Ltd., a company managed by GIC Special Investments Private Limited.

The bank currently offers a variety of asset and liability products and services designed for micro banking and general banking. Its asset products consist of retail loans including a substantial portfolio of micro loans, as well as micro, small and medium enterprise loans and small enterprise loans. In addition to the loan and deposit products, the bank offers other banking products and services include debit cards, internet banking, mobile banking, EDC-POS terminals, online bill payment services and the distribution of third-party general insurance products and mutual fund products.
